Seed Science

What is inside a seed?
Students will be dissecting two seeds and comparing /contrasting them.
Peanuts, they will be drawing the two halves and labeling them.
(Pre-soak the lima beans overnight)
Then they will dissect a lima bean and label the parts.
  • seed coat: the protective covering that surrounds the seed
  • embryo: baby plant
  • food supply (cotyledon): the material that feeds the baby plant
